Get your retro ya-ya's outDec 18, 2007
By S. Winterich The postwar space age-era design of Ray-Ban Wayfarers has never gone out of style. I prefer the tortoise frame with non-polarized green/grayish lenses, instead of black frames, to stay clear of the "Jake Blues" or 'Tom Cruise in "Risky Business"' look. (But Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Roy Orbison, John Lennon, Kim Novak, JFK, Elvis Costello and Deborah Harry are good company.)
Green lenses are great for driving and are free of visible distortion, as you would expect from Ray-Bans. Cheap copies do not provide this. Reduction of glare is ample, with minimal disruption of color.
The fit is more dressy than sporty: somewhat clunky but not uncomfortable, and over the temples, gentler than expected. The hinges are intended to allow the stems to overextend slightly, and the manufacturer includes what appears to be a spring catch not resistant enough to snap. I decided not to try to tighten these as I became used to the fit.
Consider a larger frame than 50mm if your body type or hat size warrants it, such as the Wayfarer II frame, as this 50mm Wayfarer model will appear too small on big and tall men.
Purchasing from a reputable sunglass retailer by online auction undercuts huge retail markup (about 40%, or over $50.00 for me) on name brand sunglasses, online and in the mall, if you know exactly what you are looking for by color, size and model number. Consistently solid buyer feedback in the thousands will protect against counterfeiting.

Faster than a speeding bulletAug 31, 2007
By chillybrr59 First of all, I'd like to say that the sunglasses are great. Since WWII Ray Ban has been producing a high quality product that never varies. It's too bad that more companies don't take as much pride in their workmanship and service. This brings me around to the second part of my review. It took approximently 4 days to receive my glasses. That's service!

Almost perfect: slipping & glareJul 19, 2009
By CocoNut Fish I really like my ray bans except for the fact that they slide down the bridge of my nose repeatedly; I guess that's my fault for not reading a guide to how to choose which size. Another aspect that's not ideal is the amount of glare that the tilt of sunglasses let in on both sides of the lenses, but then again it's partly my fault for not paying extra for a polarized pair.
One thing I really like about these sunglasses is that they don't have those annoying pad arms and nose pads that get caught in my hair when I put them up. Also, when you stow them and collapse the temples, the temple tips don't scratch up the lens like cheaply designed sunglasses do.
btw: I know that 2113 are a man's style but their lens are bigger than any of the styles for women which all looked too small for my face; so far someone has yet to notice and point it out!
