When I first met Maui Jim I was a young woman in Virginia Beach enlisted in the Navy back in 2000. I had money to burn and needed a new pair of sunglasses. I just so happened to be at the Hampton Roads Mall, when I stumbled upon a kiosk with all sorts of sunglasses. I was instantly drawn to the stylish flashy design of the Maui Jim all black Stingrays. I fell in love for the first time with an inanimate object. I then commenced to trying on many more sunglasses at the little kiosk, but there was something about the first pair I tried on that stuck in the back of my mind. After about 15 pairs of sunglasses later I finally put back on the Maui Jim's. The clarity, style, and way they made my face looked was what I was looking for. Granted spending over 20$ on a pair of sunglasses seemed super dumb to me before that day. When I put these sunglasses on I vowed to never go back to cheap Wal-Mart brands ever again.
Around four years later I dropped them on the flight line at work; they broke right through the left lens part of the frame. I was heartbroken and broke. I wasn't able to ship them back and have them repaired, so I threw them away and promised myself that I WILL have another pair of these on day.
Three days ago I paid off my 2007 Dodge Caravan and that's when I bought the sunglasses here to replace my long lost love. I had to buy them because I promised myself that after I paid off my brand new van I would have the Maui Jim's again. And now I do! I'm in love all over again! Spend the money and keep them safe! They are worth every single penny.

I have owned many pairs of sunglasses and these are by far the best I have ever owned. They have Maui Jim's Passport blended prescription lenses supplied by Maui Jim. I have the PXMAUIJIM tint and black frames. A particular advantage of these sunglasses is that, though they block glare, they also allow me to see pretty well in quite dim light. These glasses are very light and they stay on very well. The nylon frames seem rugged, and spring loaded hinges are a particular advantage that I was looking for when I was sunglasses shopping. I didn't know that Maui Jim's were supposed to be the best sunglasses when I picked these out, but I was told by everyone at Lenscrafters that they are. I love these sunglasses! I purchased them at Lenscrafters. The frames were $209, less the 30% AARP discount and the lenses were $450,less the 30% AARP discount. So,the cost was $461.30 and well worth it.
