I was a big Revo wearer for years and after the 6th or 7th pair kicked the bucket (note: I wear sunglasses every day and usually get at least 4 years out of a pair before replacing) I decided to try the Maui Jim's since my buddy couldn't say enough about them and it would remind me of the trip where he lost his in the ocean while playing in Maui. I have always instited on glass lenses and I love the weight and the look and the comfort of these glasses. They came out with a burgandy pair after I bought the black ones and now I have to find a reson to have to have the burgandy ones! I will never go back to Revo's after having the Maui Jim's. Definately worth their weight in gold!

I've been shopping for a new pair of sunglasses for a few weeks. I also own a pair of Revo 9003 -- flexon frames. Recently one of the lenses broke on the Revo's and I decided to go for another set of glass lens, high end shades.
The thing that sets these Maui Jim Shorelines apart is the combination of style - lovely grained sides, and bold black rims, with durability and exceptional optics. They're a little heavier than some, but they're glass -- so scratching is far less of a risk. I'm hard on sunglasses so the scratch resistant glass is preferable to me.
All in all I couldn't be happier. Compared to the Revo's it's pretty darn close in terms of quality. I think I'd give these Maui Jims a slight edge.

I am shopping for my third pair of Maui Jims and wouldn't consider anything else. Their polarization and anti-glare--some 9 layers--make the world look so beautiful it's amazing. I particularly like the bronze lens; the gray is good for stronger sun but doesn't give the same optical clarity/color saturation as the Bronze. The rose lenses are pretty cool, too--they really do recall the saying of "seeing the world through rose colored glasses."
Maui Jims are phenomenal with tropical colors--especially fuschias. They make the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii look even more amazing. Not quite as amazing here in L.A. but everytime I wear my Maui Jims, I say, "Yeah......"
Be careful with rimless ones. Flexon frames are great if you can find them.
