5Awesome!Jan 21, 2007

I am a tennis player and these sunglasses really help. Not only do they help filter out the sun rays, but the ball color (optic yellow) is really enhanced. They even work well in low-light conditions. If you need darker lenses than the teal, you can switch to the supplied grey ones. They also don't fog-up as easily as some. Great product!
1/09 Update: After about a year of use, I found that the nose pads like to come unglued and fall off. There are replacement pads available, but they are a little pricey and you supply the glue. I would take the star rating down to 4 due to this.

1Value Isn't There.Sep 21, 2009
By James Tidwell "DiesIrae"
Because of specific eye problems I have to wear sunglasses outdoors at all times. The Bolle Vigilante with the prescription insert added was the perfect solution for my requirements. But I have complaints.

Vastly overpriced for the quality.Compare these to sunglasses in the ten to twenty-five dollar range and you will see they are of comparable quality. In fact, I have better quality glasses purchased on Ebay from China. The interchangeable lenses are cheap scraps of plastic. My grandchild's toy sunglasses are no worse.

The rubber nose pads and earpieces rot, and fall off frequently. If they were just molded as one piece of plastic with the frames, the problem would be solved and cost less to boot, although I would not expect Bolle to pass along any savings.

Because of the design of the earpieces, it is not possible to attach retainer straps to the earpieces, so they fall off more often and the lenses get scratched up rapidly, resulting in more sales for Bolle.

Can't someone make these things cheaply, or at least give value for the money spent? Until then, I am stuck buying theses frames and their expensive replacement lenses.

As a bike commuter I needed a pair of glasses that look good, but also do a great job. I looked at oakleys, but way too expensive. I also needed to change lenses, because I ride at night and in the morning (both ways to work). I am very happy with the Bolle Paroles. They are easy to change lenses and look great!! Have been wearing them for a Year and no problems.

3light weight sunglassesAug 18, 2007
By Earl S. Handy "ehandy"
I have owned Oakley Blades and Smith HP sunglases which have a simular style. They seem to be good quality but I feel the lenses are too small. The major complaint I have is the nose pieces which literally disolved after only 4 months of use: unaceptable; they should last years. I also don't know where to get replacementsnlike oakey and Smith which have detachable nose pieces the Bolles nose pieces attach directly to the frame. These glasses are good value with 3 sets of lenses and the lenses are far easier to change than Oakley or Smith. I would not buy these again because of the poor quality and design of the nose piece which was probably made in China

1I want to like these sunglasses but.......Mar 18, 2010
By Sandy D. Scott
I have used Bolle Parole sunglasses with prescription inserts for about 5 years. I like the way they look, and I like the way they fit. I like the case that comes with them, and I like the way the lenses interchange. Unfortunately, there are two deal killers - the quality and the customer service. Understand that mine get some probably hard useage. I'm an avid cyclist who trains 27 hours a week often in the hot humid weather of Florida. Unfortunately, I don't believe that excuses my negative experiences with 4 pairs of these glasses.

The nose pads always seem to eventually separate from the frame. Once, Bushnell (the company that owns Bolle), sent me replacement nose pads, but they turned out to be all put impossible to install by the consumer. The customer service person who sent me the replacement pads did warn me in advance of the difficulty in installing replacement pads and suggested that I send them back. You might argue that I should have listened to customer service, but see below what the turn around time would have been. Also, the rubber temple pads always seem to start coming apart and ultimately come off.

In that they are not terribly expensive glasses, I simply threw out the first two pair that I owned and purchased replacements. When my current two pair suffered both nose pad separation and temple pad separation on one side on each pair of glasses, I fnally decided to send those back to the factory for warranty repair. According to tracking, Bushnell received the two frames on the 10th of March. On the 18th of March (the day I am writing this review), I received mail notification that the glasses had been received, and processing time for repairs would be 3-4 weeks. That seems a bit excessive considering that if the company even has a modicum of customer service, they would simply ship back replacement sets.

In conclusion, great styling, great fit, great case, ease of lens change, but horrible quality and worse customer service.
